Updated Laddertag, free inspection poster
September 4th 2006

Scafftag claims Laddertag has become the industry standard system for ladders, used by thousands of leading companies worldwide including Siemens, Salamis, Coors, BP and Serco. Following consultation with customers and with the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC), the standard Laddertag insert has been updated to show ladder classification, risk assessment inspection period, and when the next ladder inspection is due.

Awareness of the need for ladder inspections is well-known in business and industry, but the need for systematic checks on other equipment falling under the access umbrella – such as steps, step ladders, elephant’s feet and sometimes even podiums and low level platforms – is less widespread.

Scafftag has a comprehensive range of equipment tagging solutions covering all access equipment inspection needs. For example, Multitag is a system for podiums and low level platforms while for smaller equipment such as step ladders and elephant’s feet, Microtag and Nanotag provide the well-sized solutions

However, the range of solutions is limitless due to the option to custom design, incorporating different size and shape systems, branding and inspection data required.

Scafftag systems are compatible with Safetrak for computer-based equipment management records and there is a purpose-designed Safetrak inspection module for ladders, customisable according to individual needs.

For a paper based alternative, The Yellow Book contains guidance on safety and maintenance requirements and all the necessary documents needed to set up an inspection management record system.
