Cut safe and more April 4th 2007 When considering safety knives the assumption is the level of "cut safety". However the iceberg syndrome is lurking just below the surface, says Accordant safety knives.
Users of knives are facing the time bomb of industrial disease from repetitive tasks. Many models of knives claiming to be ergonomic have been no more than slightly more comfortable to hold, some as little as having a rippled grip.
Accordant Safety Knives, in partnership with Technicut, is launching the next phase of its ERGO range. The design of the knives is the result of extensive work with leading French Universities specialising in the study of ergonomics and allows for safe, protective, comfortable, minimal stress (in relation to musculo-skeletal type injury) use.
The current launch includes ERGOCUT (an ABS palm grip knife with a TPR rubberized grip, blade set depths from 0 – 14mm, a locked safe position and blade changing without any dismantling or tools). Having 4 heads available it allows the knife to perform the function of 4 different knives. The ERGOMAX (as the ERGOCUT but in Aluminium). And the ERGOFILM (an enclosed blade ‘pull-action’ film/strap/card cutter with a serrated blade tape scorer).
Accordant & Technicut have yet more of the ERGO range in development.”
