Free safety spectacles

“Each year, thousands of eye injuries are reported to the Health and Safety Executive, caused by occupational hazards such as wind-blown or machine driven dust, the impact of wood chips and shards of metal, flash burn to the cornea, and liquid or chemical splashes," explains Adele Wills, Marketing Executive for 3M’s Occupational Health & Environmental Safety division. "Last year, 95 of these incidents involved loss of sight. With the minimum compensation for loss of sight in one eye around the £100,000 mark, eye protection in the workplace is high on the list of priorities for many industries.”

“Although protective eyewear is often provided, the problem often lies with non-wear time. We have therefore designed 12 highly protective, new products that focus on stylish and comfortable designs. These models perfectly complement our initial range of protective eyewear, launched in 2005”.

3M’s new offerings combine a number of features that set them apart from standard protective eyewear, such as anti-scratch coating, adjustable arms, several tint options and wrap around design for increased safety.

New models include:

3M 2800 Comfort Over Spectacles that incorporate soft, low profile features for minimum interaction with prescription glasses and adjustable arm length to suit different shaped and sized heads – suitable for a range of applications.

3M 2810 Super Light Spectacles – sleek and stylish, extremely lightweight safety spectacles - ideal for use in hospitals, labs and light industry.

3M 2820 Classic Modern Spectacles - this model offers an excellent field of vision, anti-scratch and anti-fog coating, adjustable lens angle and flexible arms. It is available in three lens options - recommended for industrial environments, assembly, DIY and milling.

3M 2840 Comfort Style Spectacles. Exceptionally stylish and lightweight with integrated browguard and soft inner padded arms for improved fit and protection. This model is available with six lens options including clear, yellow, smoke, indoor/outdoor, red/orange and Infra Red Shade 5. Ideal for construction, warehousing, dental, automotive and welding industries.
