BSC awareness campaign
June 7th 2007

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the British Safety Council (BSC) is launching a significant awareness campaign to ensure safety stays firmly at the top of the agenda for businesses in the UK.

The BSC has restructured and grown its account management team by appointing specialists aligned to key market sectors. The BSC says this investment is an integral part of the initiative to help organisations improve their health, safety and environmental performance both in the UK and abroad.

Headed  by Richard Trist, the newly appointed National Accounts Manager (retail, restaurants, catering and hotel markets), the team will consist of Sarah McKevitt (construction, mining, and quarry markets), David Moore (chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, utilities and FM markets) and  Mark McLeod (automotive, logistics, engineering, finance and insurance markets). More appointments are expected over the coming months.

“The new structure has been designed to encourage the sharing of relevant information, experience and best practice within the respective sectors.  We believe that this initiative will have a significant impact on health, safety and environmental performance, and are confident that the investment we are making in the new team will allow us to better service the precise needs of different markets,” explains Marcus Whewell, Sales & Marketing Director for the BSC.

The BSC has also opened ts first overseas office in Dubai.
