HSE falls from vehicles campaign underway
October 4th 2007 With the aim of raising awareness of the risk of falling that workers are exposed to when accessing and/or working at height on vehicles, the HSE's Falls from vehicles campaign is running from October through to December.
The campaign covers:
- Access to vehicle
- Surfaces
- Footwear
- Planning loading and unloading
- Environment
- Housekeeping
- Ground level controls
- Maintenance
Advice for managers includes: plan loading and unloading to minimise work at height, and supervise safe systems and use of access equipment.
