Don't get cold feet October 1st 2007 Cold feet on the job can be a thing of the past with GORE-TEX footwear since it’s guaranteed to keep feet warm and dry in wet, chilly conditions.
As well as feeling unpleasant, cold feet can really get a worker down because they can weaken the performance of the whole body. The worker is likely to get tired more easily, become less efficient and take longer to get the job done.
PPE footwear take a lot of punishment from wild weather and rough terrain and must be robust and resilient as well as water repellent. Breathability is also vital so there’s no uncomfortable moisture build-up and feet stay dry outside in the cold and also in heated rooms indoors.
GORE-TEX footwear is constructed to provide perfect protection with safety standards in accordance with EN 345-347. Every component, from outer leather to laces, is subjected to extensive testing to make certain it can cope with extreme conditions. As well as exacting abrasion tests Gore’s flex-test simulates taking 300,000 steps through water and boots go into production only if they pass this test.
The GORE-TEX membrane, sandwiched between the leather outer and fabric lining of the boot, stops water getting in but allows sweat to escape and also gives a degree of protection against dust, bacteria and the majority of chemicals.
So it’s goodbye to cold, clammy feet. With GORE-TEX footwear they’re just a distant memory.
