IOSH sponsors World Conker Championships
September 3rd 2007 In an attempt to counter the increasingly negative perception of health and safety, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has announced it is to sponsor this year's World Conker Championships.
IOSH says it has taken the move to counter the idea that health and safety "stops you from doing things."
"Health and safety is often used as an excuse not to do something, but managed properly, it's actually the key to ensuring activities go-ahead, but in as safe and healthy a manner as possible," explains president of IOSH, Lisa Fowlie.
