Accreditation of Safety Professionals
August 15th 2008

As many readers will know the BSIF has been a strong supporter of the idea that safety professionals should be the subject of self-regulation so that those using their services have a clear understanding that they are competent based on some form of independent audit against nationally accepted standards.

The BSIF is keen to avoid the difficulties of a multitude of standards as used with the construction industry's ‘passport schemes’.

It is also keen to assist smaller businesses engaging safety consultants, who ultimately take responsibility for their competence, by providing them with a suitable "yard-stick" on which to judge the recruitment of appropriate professional assistance.
