The British Safety Industry Federation is currently finalising the arrangements for the BSIF Safety Awards 2008. These awards are aimed at the supply side of the safety industry and give manufacturers, distributors, safety consulting organisations and nominated bodies an opportunity to demonstrate to the their innovation and skills in preventing occupational accidents.
The BSIF Safety Awards have three categories, each with an objective to focus upon differing aspects of the industry:
- Product Innovation:- An award for products that are new and innovative and will contribute to improvements in occupational safety and health
- Service Awards:- An award for companies in the safety field offering exceptional service and innovative service solutions
- Safety Excellence:- A new series of awards for 2008, based upon case studies, highlighting significant improvements in the occupational safety of companies employees during 2007
These awards will be presented in the Safety Theatre at the Safety and Health Expo in the NEC Birmingham on 13th May 2008.
The 2007 award winners included an innovative Safety Knife from Mure & Peyrot which incorporated a special blade retractor which makes it impossible for the blade to be exposed when the knife is put down. The Service award was to RPS Laboratories , who won the highest marks, with comments from customers such as ‘Probably the best organisation we deal with’.
The BSIF looks forward to this year's awards and announcing more companies that excel in the safety field and make a real contribution to reducing occupational accidents.
