January 22nd 2008 December 2007 saw the launch of the BSIF Guide to the Safety Industry. The guide is designed to offer a reference source for industry to assist the accessing of safety products and services, backed by authoritative articles on key safety subjects and signposts to assist in accessing other safety related information.
Amongst the 2008 guide articles were commentaries from the Health and Safety Executive on Preventing Workplace Dermatitis and Ladder Safety, IOSH on the Principles of Prevention and the Institute of Occupational Medicine on the REACH regulations. Additionally there were a number of articles from RoSPA and the BSIF on current issues within the Safety world. Lawrence Waterman, Head of Health and Safety at the Olympic Delivery Authority has also contributed an authoritative article on Managing Safety for the delivery of the 2012 London Olympics.
The guide highlights all BSIF members along with a product and service guide to facilitate the easy selection of suppliers. Finally the ‘Directory of useful contacts’ has received strong praise as a very useful information signpost, enabling readers direct access to the best sources of safety information in the UK.
