BSIF assists health and safety equipment exporters
November 3rd 2008

With the UK economy continuing to slow and major users of safety equipment, such as the construction industry, carefully watching their spend, an increasing number of safety suppliers are looking to expand their export markets.

The BSIF is now working in conjunction with the United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKT&I) department to offer British exporters of safety equipment & services a real ‘helping hand’. In December BSIF is hosting a training meeting for 20 commercial officers from British embassies around the globe to gain their assisting and understanding of the safety industries specific needs. The training sessions will be held at the British Standards Institutes test house in Hemel Hempstead, which will also enable them to see first hand how rigorously UK safety products are tested.

The UK has an enviable record for manufacturing complex safety equipment to the highest standards and our safety systems are copied worldwide. With the help of UKT&I, BSIF can help safety exporters to capitalise on this undoubted advantages, bringing much need orders to our shores.
