Pile on the salt this winter
January 8th 2009

Q. During the winter freeze, paths and driveways become icy.

What’s the best – low cost - way to stop them becoming slippery and

dangerous to walk on?

A. Hanson’s Rocksalt comes in 25kg size packs to prevent ice and snow

forming so your home’s path, driveway, patio, porch, steps are safe…

This winter ensure you don’t slip up by using Hanson Rocksalt.

Right through to Spring, ice, snow and harsh frosts can make paths and driveways especially treacherous.

Slips and falls are common, particularly amongst children, elderly and less able.

It’s estimated annually over 8,000 accidents are attributable to people slipping or falling on snow, resulting in injuries needing hospital treatment.**

This pure ground sodium chloride based rocksalt ‘de-icer’ features an anti-caking agent and marl (fine-grained minerals) to prevent ice formation on sound concrete and Macadam surfaces.

To quickly remove existing snow and ice on your path, the drive, patio, porches and steps, use a spade or shovel to spread a quantity of the rocksalt. You can use it for clearing the pavement or road outside your home too.

Or if the weather forecast says it’s likely to be icy overnight, be prepared by putting some down before the freeze sets in.

Available in 25kg Maxi-pack sizes at around £4.99 each from your local Hanson stockist – DIY retailer/builders’ merchant.
