Health and Safety 08 goes North
June 11th 2008

After getting off to a fantastic start at Sandown Park, Esher in February, the second in the Health and Safety 08 series of regional Health and Safety events, sponsored by DuPont, will take place at The Reebok Stadium in Bolton on the 8th and 9th October 2008. With 50% more exhibitors than last year and an increasingly popular, high quality conference and seminar programme, Health and Safety 08 North is already shaping up to be incredibly valuable for visitors.

Tim Else, event director, says of the events: Whether you are directly responsible for the safety of the workforce or involved in the selection of safety equipment and services, this event makes the UK's leading suppliers and the most reliable advice on all occupational health and safety issues more accessible than ever before.

One of the main attractions for visitors to the event is the free conference and seminar programme developed in conjunction with key industry organisations such as the Manchester and North West Districts Branch of IOSH. Papers are to be delivered by a raft of industry experts and IOSH members and will cover practical topics such as 'Protection against burn injury from electric arc' and 'Hearing protection just legal or just right', as well as issues like risk management, insurance and the Corporate Manslaughter Act. A full programme of seminars can be found at: www.healthandsafetyevents.co.uk

As well as the impressive range of exhibitors and seminar topics, Principal People's fire training consultants will be generating some heat outside the exhibition hall during Health and Safety 08 - North. The team will be demonstrating the use of extinguishers and inviting visitors to bring a blaze under control with hand held extinguishers. Principal People will be promoting the range of fire training services that it offers, from fire marshal training and evacuations to risk assessment and general consultancy.

Once again, Health and Safety 08 is being sponsored by DuPont Personal Protection. Talking about the success of last year's events and looking forwards to this year's, Paul Clow, UK and Scandinavian Regional Manager for DuPont Personal Protection, said, The diversity and comprehensiveness of the Health and Safety Shows seminar programme and exhibitor zone reflects the many complex issues that affect the health, safety and wellbeing of today's workforce in all working environments. As sponsor, we have been delighted with the industry's response to this compact and concise event, which will continue to improve and grow. It has given us the opportunity to help bring together a comprehensive package of education and safety products to a local audience.

The list of companies supporting the exhibition is extremely impressive and demonstrates the emphasis which the major companies in the safety industry are placing on this event. There are a host of well-known PPE providers, materials handling equipment suppliers and specialist consultancies exhibiting. The experienced staff at the show will be happy to discuss individual visitor applications and help provide the practical assistance which only face-to-face interaction can bring. Health and Safety 08 North represents a great use of time for visitors from virtually any industry and at any level, not just health and safety professionals.

The venue has been chosen for ease of access and boasts ample free parking while the educational content addresses the most topical and pressing safety issues. The exhibition rivals that of any national show and the event is geared to provide a worthwhile experience for the time-pressured visitor.

Registering for the events or seminars is free. Registration is via: www.healthandsafetyevents.co.ukor for those without internet access registration can be completed by calling the event helpline on: 0870 4866816.
