Praybourne’s certification celebration
May 3rd 2008

There was cheer all round at Praybourne when it was announced that every single item in its high-visibility clothing range passed the all-new safety regulations.

The recent introduction of EN471:2003 certification means that all high-visibility personal protective equipment (PPE) must now be produced at an even higher standard than ever before, and all Praybourne’s garments passed the rigorous testing.

Stuart Jukes, Praybourne’s sales director, said: “We are very pleased with the result. A company such as ours that prides itself on innovation and top quality manufacturing needs to be at the forefront.”

Stuart added: “The new regulations were introduced so that employees are protected from danger as much as possible which is especially important in today’s climate where the Government is cracking down on employers that fail to offer the required protection.

“Responsibility for accidents in the workplace is an increasingly important subject. Making sure you’ve done your bit to aid prevention brings peace of mind to everyone from those out in the field to the management who are exposed to criminal prosecution.”

As well as the protection offered to the wearer, the certification also covers environmental issues, concerning the source of materials and dyes and the manner in which waste is disposed.

Stuart said: “It was an expensive and time-consuming process to earn the certification, but to us it is necessary. We wanted to prove that our garments were the most capable and the most reliable.”

The company also used the opportunity to introduce new styles to the range, including the Pulsar Chevron which has reflective tape attached to high-visibility garments at striking angles.

Instead of horizontal and vertical stripes, the new range is more eye-catching by using unnatural lines and shapes.

The certification means that Praybourne becomes one of the first companies in the UK to have all its high-visibility ranges pass the new regulations, although the company won’t rest there and will continue to develop its safety features further.
