BSIF exporters in Dubai
March 9th 2009 Held each year in January, The Dubai Security and Safety exhibition has now become a key event within the sector, attracting high profile buyers from the Middle East, Africa and the Indian sub continent.
BSIF, with the strong support of the United Kingdom Trade & Investment department (UKT&I), lead a delegation of UK companies to the exhibition. Organising a ‘British’ pavilion for eight exhibitors and assisting other UK businesses with their own stands, the BSIF was able to ensure the exhibition was as beneficial as possible for those participating.
Using funding from UKT&I, BSIF arranged for exhibitors’ literature to be translated into Arabic, made available areas for British companies to hold private meetings and ensured assistance was available to resolve any local issues or requirements.
The exhibitors reported very positive results from the exhibition, commenting that the quality of visitors to the event were excellent. Exporting in today’s tough economic market is an excellent way for companies to gain much needed extra sales and with the current exchange rates the customers are finding UK prices very attractive. This was a good example of the Government actively supporting potential exporters and the BSIF is currently examining further opportunities for 2009 / 2010.
