Buck & Hickman offers £1,000 of free tools for customer who finds its oldest existing catalogue December 10th 2009 Distributors of tools, maintenance and health and safety products, Buck & Hickman, is turning 180 years old in 2010. To celebrate, it’s announced a competition for customers to win £1,000 of free tools if they present the oldest, genuine Buck & Hickman product catalogue.
The company, which is launching its latest catalogue in January 2010, has original editions dating from the mid 1890’s but believes there are versions that are even older. They are now appealing to anyone who has a pre-1894 catalogue to contact them and will be offering the fantastic prize for the oldest catalogue that is put forward.
Commenting on the campaign Howard Luft, Buck & Hickman’s managing director, said: “In putting together our latest 2010 catalogue we’ve included a review of the company’s history to-date and we already know that many of our original editions are collector’s items. Whilst a lot of the key company milestones are known there’s nothing in the archives to indicate when the first Buck & Hickman catalogue was actually published so we are appealing to anyone with a catalogue older than the 1894 edition to get in touch with us.
“We’re offering £1,000 in free tools for the oldest edition we can identify and the winner will be free to choose anything they want from our latest catalogue range. There’ll also be some great runners-up prizes so if you’ve got an old catalogue then do please get in touch.”
