How to deal with noise at work
May 4th 2010

Barbour Environment, Health & Safety has announced the addition of www.barbour-ehs.com/downloads/noise-at-work The Barbour Resource Pack: ‘Noise at Work’ to its extensive range of resources.

Over 1 million employees in the UK are exposed to levels of noise that put their hearing at risk and 17% suffer deafness, tinnitus or other ear conditions as a result of exposure to excessive noise.

With Noise Action Week taking place (26-30 April), Barbour has produced a resource pack to help businesses which includes:

• A Technical Guide - breaks down this complicated legislation making it easier to understand and easier to convey to colleagues and clients, or even for use as a basis for training

• A Director’s Briefing - short, clear summary covering significant areas of the topic, including responsibility, competence and duty of care

• An Employee Factsheet - clear, concise information concerning identifying, managing and controlling the risks and hazards faced with incidents of work related violence.

This resource pack is part of a series of new content to be added to the Barbour service. Future topics to be covered include; Stress at Work, Muscular Skeletal Disorder and Asbestos duty of care. These packs are just one of the many resources available from Barbour covering a range of key topic areas.
