SAFETY CONTROLLER FOR ACCESS GUARDING

Scientific Technologies has introduced a long range, single-beam safety controller for perimeter and access guarding in industrial settings.

BeamSafe II has a 60m range, and is available in a cast-aluminium enclosure for explosion proof environments.

The control system consists of one transmitter and one receiver. No interconnecting cables or separate control enclosure are required. Four separate visible indicators, mounted on the receiver, provide instant information on system clear, blocked or interlocked status conditions, as well as signal strength. Additional diagnostic indicators on the receiver give codes to help with trouble-shooting.

To enhance immunity to weld flash and ambient light, BeamSafes infrared light beam is coded with four possible transmit codes. This eliminates interference from other BeamSafe units nearby.

A tight beam angle reduces problems associated with reflective surfaces and the units lens heater is useful in environments where condensation may form on transmitter or receiver lenses.
