Ozone systems for T3
April 1st 2006

To cater for the increasing capacity and air conditioning demand of Heathrow's terminals, BAA has upgraded and increased the capacity of the cooling towers on Terminal 3 and added additional cooling towers to Terminal 1.

It has chosen ozone treatment systems from Waterwise Technology for the new cooling tower installations.

Replacing conventional chemical treatment systems with ozone achieves a number of objectives for BAA. It minimises the environmental impact of the operation while ensuring that the level of protection for the public against legionella and other bacteria is not compromised.

Health and safety risks associated with chemicals are virtually eliminated.
