Gland gets IECEx certification
February 1st 2007 Kopex International believes it is the first manufacturer of electrical conduit to gain IECEx certification for one of its products. Following tests carried out by BASEEFA, its ATEX flameproof gland now complies with the requirements of IEC 60079- 0/1 and 7, making it compliant with the International Electrochemical Commission's global certification scheme for explosive atmospheres. Kopex points out that IECEx Certification is designed to cross national boundaries and set an international standard of conformance; the scheme is aimed at facilitating international trade in electrical equipment while maintaining the required level of safety.
