Lock not shock
August 1st 2004

Castell Iso-Lok has introduced an electrically insulated version of its Multi-Clasp for use when locking off electrical equipment. The clasp provides additional protection against electric shock in the unlikely event that it comes into contact with a live electric source. The clasps coating has been flash tested to 2.5kv ac with no current passing through. The thick plastic coating provides an extra layer of protection for personnel involved in operation or maintenance. The clasp itself is a familiar scissor design incorporating six padlock holes. Hole dia is 8mm, to accommodate padlocks with large shackle diameters. The Multi-Clasp is simply attached to the relevant anchor point and each operative inserts their own personalised padlock into the clasp. Access can only be restored once all padlocks are removed.
