Minimise static risk
February 1st 2005

The Eltex TCO030 ground monitoring unit is available from Arrowquint to minimise the risk of static build up when transferring or mixing flammable or potentially explosive materials.

It continuously monitors the ground or bonding path during transfer or processing.

The basic principle behind the TCO030 sensing and switching unit is to look for a specific resistance along the bonding path. If this resistance is within predetermined limits, the system will switch and indicate a safe condition.

This can be used to operate one or more interlock relays that permit the process or machine to start.

However, if the resistance is incorrect, the system will not switch, an alarm may sound and the process is inhibited.

The resistance circuit can be completed in a variety of ways for both coupling and docking stations, including manual clamps, connector pins and swipe contacts.
