Safety switches
October 1st 2005

CMS non-contact safety switches from Euchner are said to provide a high degree of protection and to offer system operators advantages in areas where cleaning or

contamination are significant factors.

The compact switches are interlocking devices designed to protect people and machines and operate on a magnetic action principle. They provide a coded, tamperproof system that has been sepcifically developed to monitor moving machine parts and moveable safety guards.

Advantages claimed include sensor units that can be actuated from different directions.

Units are immune to mechanical wear because of the long service life of the read contacts in the read head (rated at more than 100 million switching cycles). Coding

for all actuators in a particular product type is identical, keeping spares requirements to a minimum.
