Free guide explains complex standard
August 1st 2006

Schneider Electric has published a new document How to use BS EN 60204- 1:2006 Safety of Machinery which provides an easy to understand guide to this important safety standard and recommends which products customers need to implement to achieve compliance.

Due to the complexity of the Standard, Schneider electric commissioned Brian James Clark, OBE, who has been at the forefront of machinery safety standards for many years, to write a simple, easy-to-use guide.

Machinery safety has always been an important issue, but over the past decade the standards for safety have become more stringent globally. Brian Clark believes that the new document will provide machine designers, control system designers and safety professionals with a clear explanation of the Standard's requirements and thereby simplify adherence.

The 52-page document is free to download from www.schneider.co.uk.
