FREE CD-ROM GUIDE TO WELDING SAFETY
October 1st 2004

ESAB is offering a free CDROM that provides guidance on risks and safety measures to be taken when performing welding and cutting operations.

The CD covers everything from ergonomics and the risk of electrocution to protection from lasers and electromagnetic fields. As well as down-to-earth explanations and hardhitting facts, the guide suggests many simple, lowcost measures that can be taken to improve health and safety.

Divided into four sections, the CD covers: the welder’s working environment; machine safety and mechanical protection; the cutting operator’s environment; and reference literature.

Most of the material centres around MIG, MAG, MMA and TIG welding, both manual and mechanised processes, plus gas, plasma, laser and waterjet cutting.

A list of applicable standards and European Directives is included.
