HAVexposure management
October 1st 2010

The HAVmeter from Reactec manages employees' exposure to hand arm vibration (HAV) and provides power tool users with a running total of their vibration points exposure throughout the day, giving a warning (using a traffic lights system) before high exposure levels are reached.

Already in use by over 170 organisations throughout the UK, the HAVmeter is a small durable device with no external buttons or switches to ensure ruggedness, ease of use and to make the device tamper-proof. It magnetically attaches to hand held power tools via colour-coded tool tags and is returned at the end of the day to the basestation for recharging, and automatic downloading of exposure records.

The HAVmeter incorporates RFID technology and inbuilt accelerometers. When attached to a tool tag the device instantly knows what tool it is connected to and the average vibration level associated with that tool.
