Havs inserts for tagging system
October 1st 2006

Available from Scafftag, Microtag helps companies to manage the risk of Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome by making important information available about the status of equipment at the point of use.

The company says the system is already used by companies such as Balfour Beatty, AMEC and Halliburton and that it was prescribed as best operating practice by the OCA (Offshore Contractor Association) and UKOOA (UK Offshore Operators Association.

Focusing on the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations, Scafftag has introduced two new Microtag HAVS inserts – MTI 405 and MTI 451. These will replace the MTI 333 and MTI 335.

MTI405 indicates noise and vibration levels and MTI 451 incorporates the new points per hour system that helps users keep track of exposure accumulated over the entire day (especially important when using a variety of tools and equipment).
