Machine guards: free calculator

Procter Machinery Guarding is offering a free Safety Distance Calculator to help establish the required safety distances and heights of machine guards in accordance with BS EN 294, Safety of Machinery - Safety distances to prevent danger zones being reached by the upper limbs.

The calculator has dropdown menus, from which the user selects the application risk level, horizontal distance to the hazard and height of the hazard. The calculator immediately displays the required heights for the protective structure

It also gives the safety distances for slots, round, square and irregularlyshaped apertures through which a person could reach.
