Stand and position
February 1st 2008

Benco engine stands and positioners suitable for newbuild, repair and refurbishment operations, can be supplied by Brixworth Engineering Co.

With stand capacities to 20t, units are suitable for work on engines and gearboxes from public transport equipment, as well as drive units from heavy construction plant, gen sets and static engines.

The range allows simple, safe rotational handling of heavy, out-of-balance loads and has the added benefit of backlash-free movement.

Smaller stands are available, covering weight capacities from 750kg.

Models can be supplied floor-mounted or as mobile units, the latter allowing easy relocation of work-inprogress.

Some models have an adjustable column, giving a spindle height that can be set from 760 to 1110mm.

Heavy items can be manipulated through 360° in one plane and 90° in the other. Depending on the application, the rotational movements of the stands can be controlled electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically.
