Checks on vibration
December 1st 2007

New regulations now limit the exposure of employees to both hand arm and whole body vibration. The MMFVM30 Human Vibration Meter meets all the requirements of the Standards mentioned in the HSE Guidance and can be used for those cases where measurements are required.

The meter comes with both a tri-axial pick up for mounting on hand tools and a seat pad pick up for whole body vibration in both the seating and recumbent positions.

A direct read-out of the vibration exposure is obtained and these may be downloaded to software that will calculate the exposure of each individual employee as set out in the Regulations.

The real world vibration measurements are a valuable back up to the 'laboratory' results quoted in equipment data sheets.

The instruments are available for purchase or hire from Campbell Associates.
