NEW FIXING SYSTEM HELPS PREVENT VWF August 1st 2005 An advanced new fixing system from SFS intec has been developed to prevent the risk of hand-arm vibration disease among workers in manufacturing industries, including the most common illness, vibration white finger.
With workers most at risk being those who regularly use handheld power tools that vibrate, the company has developed the vibration-free CF250 floor fixing system that offers a range of fasteners to drill into different thicknesses of timber and steel.
Glen Wainwright, director of SFS intec, comments “VWF has been commonplace for a number of years in heavy industries such as mining and steel making, but now we are seeing a rise in the number of incidences of disease in other manufacturing industries where manual labour is involved.
“We have developed the CF250 floor fixing system to ensure employers can eliminate the risks and avoid contributing to the ill-health of employees.” |
