Safe input
May 1st 2009

There are now more ways of connecting safety devices such as fail-safe sensors or light curtains to the safety version of ActuatorSensor- Interface (AS-i) with the launch by ifm electronic of the AC007S module.

SIL3-compliant, IP67-rated and suitable for use with ifm's safe proximity sensors, it takes output signal switching device signal input from a sensor or other electrosensitive protective device and checks the integrity of the signal, for example, for cross faults, as well as the switching status of the ESPE and its own internal integrity and transmits data via the As-i Safety at Work system.
