Relay option
October 1st 2005

Scientific Technologies, Inc has introduced the RM- 2AC resource module that allows solid state safety output signals to be converted to force-guided relays, where normally open and normally closed contacts are mechanically interlocked to ensure that both cannot be closed simultaneously.

The device adds forceguided relay capability to many of STI’s solid state output devices, so users can assemble cost-effective machine safety solutions.

The RM-2AC is selfcontained; its 35mm DIN configuration requires only 150mm of panel space. The built-in power supply can operate over a voltage range of 100 to 240V AC, making it easy to install anywhere in the world.

It also provides the connected safety device with a 24V DC supply, making it a suitable companion for STI’s MS4600, OF4600-50, PA4600 and ODS3100 solid state safety devices.

With its removable terminal blocks, it serves as a central point for terminating signals to and from the attached device.
