3D zone monitoring
April 1st 2007

Described as the world's first safe camera system for three-dimensional zone monitoring, SafetyEYE from Pilz monitors and controls potentially hazardous work processes for safeguarding man and machine and protects objects from unauthorised access.

The device can reduce machine downtime significantly, saves floor space and the company says the cost to install and maintain the system is up to 70% lower than for safety light curtains.

Each system comprises a sensing device with three greyscale cameras and an analysis unit. The system has separate threedimensional 'warning' and 'detection' (danger) zones.
