Gives risk-free access
December 1st 2004

Iggesund Paperboard uses a safety interlocking system from Castell to ensure risk-free access to machinery at its Cumbria-based mill.

Several KSS20 solenoid-controlled interlock switches were supplied, as well as key exchange boxes and 96 access locks with corresponding colour-coded and numbered keys.

These have been installed on the gates of two board machine dryers and safe-guard production operators and engineers who need to enter this hazardous area.

Castell says its products proved as cost effective as installing tongue switches and that they provide greater reliability in the mill where temperatures regularly top 60C.
