En166bsplash protection for metal workers
August 1st 2008

DuPont Personal Protection, in conjunction with weavers, knitters and garment manufacturers in the Nomex Quality Partnership Programme, has developed Nomex MetalPro Plus, a fabric that offers a high level of protection and resistance against molten metal splashes.

Its enhanced shielding properties are said to reduce the risk of burn injury for people exposed to the risk of molten metal splashes and sparks and help prevent the potential for heat stress caused by physical exertion and the high environmental temperature of foundries, forges, and so on.

The new addition is intended for use on top of Nomex MetalPro fabric to provide extra protection in areas of the garment where there is continuous exposure to sparks and splashes.
