Garment advice
December 1st 2007

For the second consecutive year, DuPont will be sponsoring the regional Health and Safety Shows organised by Western Business Publishing and will be taking part in the seminar programme, speaking on topics of headline importance.

The imminent introduction of an IEC standard for garments, updated test methods for types of arcs and the introduction of a revised European Standard to protect against heat and flame could affect many organisations whose employees are at risk of burn injury from electric arc.

FR protective clothing specialist, Elaina Harvey, will discuss what the changes in legislation will mean for end-users and protective garment manufacturers.

Ian Samson, European sales and training specialist, has expert knowledge of limited-use protective garments such as those made of DuPont Tyvek, DuPont Tychem and DuPont Proshield.

He will discuss best practice in the selection of limited use protective garments and, once selected, how a protective garment must be put on and removed to avoid the potential for crosscontamination of hazardous substances.

A range of garments will feature on DuPont's stand.
