Speedy irrigation system
August 1st 2004

The Morgan Medi-Flow lens, available through B.C.B. is a delivery device that directs sterile solutions directly to the cornea.

Application is a matter of lifting the upper lid, inserting half of the lens, then pulling back the lower lid and dropping the lens into place. The drip feed of sterile solution should be started before insertion and continued until after the lens has been removed.

Once in place, the eye can be irrigated for as long as is necessary to bring the ph levels to normal. Other medication may be introduced through the lens if necessary. This allows hands-free flushing.

The solution is applied until the irrigation has been completed and the lens removed. Two raised fins on the outside of the lens hold it in place even when the patient blinks.

Clean fluid flows over the cornea and out of the eye, washing away foreign objects and contaminants.
