Wintery showers
October 1st 2005

Showers & Eyebaths Services has won a contract to supply emergency safety showers and eyebaths, including two self-contained industrial arctic tank showers for USA-based Fluor Intercontinental.

The products satisfied the requirement for a compact unit that did not have to rely on a ready supply of water and that would withstand extreme conditions. The first unit has been shipped to Sakhalin Island in Russia where winter lasts up to seven months and temperatures can drop to -45°C.

The arctic shower units are designed to withstand extreme conditions and to protect personnel during decontamination. Units are heated inside, have spring-loaded doors and are lit inside and out. The water supply is contained in a top tank that has its own heating element.
