Importance of CE marking
December 1st 2007

SATRA deputy chief executive Austin Simmons has highlighted the importance of CE marking safety footwear.

Speaking at the director-e Footwear and Clothing in the Workplace Conference in October, he reminded delegates that all safety footwear sold in the EU must carry the CE mark.

This mark reassures customers that the safety footwear they are buying is fit for its intended use and meets some of the world's strictest standards. For a product to receive a CE mark, it must be assessed by an accredited European Notified Body, such as SATRA.
