Light on your feet
July 1st 2009

Safety footwear specialist Aimont has launched what it believes to be the world's lightest safety shoe with its new Airforce range.

Suited to workers constantly on the move or on their feet all day the range weighs in at just 430grams – equivalent to less than half a bag of sugar.

Lightness and comfort have been combined with protection with the Air Force range incorporating the Light Tech package - Light Plus 200J non-metallic toecap and a puncture resistant ballistic fibre Flex-System midsole, Vento Plus footbed and Air-Texplus inserts.

The Air-Texplus inserts are a new, breathable synthetic material which maintains the micro climate inside the shoe – even at high temperatures and also resists abrasions and lacerations.

The 3D lining works with the vento-plus footbed ensuring breathability, its structure allowing air to circulate and the shoe to breath as well as being antistatic.

A 100% Polyurethane sole provides good grip and slip performance, the sole impact-zone providing shock absorption for micro-vibrations.
