Low cost overshoe with steel toecap
February 1st 2008

Low cost safety overshoes have been around for some time now. Yet, according to Mary Malcolm, CEO of Safetytoes Europe, overshoes have been made an 'orphan' by slavish interpretations of regulations.

Now, however, there are 100% rubber, steel toe overshoes that are CE Certified. Mary Malcolm says this should come as no surprise as the steel toecaps in overshoes are the same as those used in safety footwear.

She points out that an office worker passing through a safety zone can wear toe protection PPE if no other protection is required. Other settings where 'safetytoes' might be appropriate include environments where there is no risk from penetration underfoot.

Flexible, stylish and easy to put on and take off, 'safetytoes' are designed to encourage use, resulting in improved safety. They are also said to cost less than full safety footwear.
