New footwear to combat injury April 1st 2007 In a report commissioned by the Health & Safety Executive*, it was calculated that use of PPE in the workplace could result in savings of £157m in accident costs. A large proportion (around £85m) is attributable to foot injuries, which could be prevented, says Goliath Footwear, by using appropriate safety footwear. The company has developed a style which, it believes, will better cater for workers in high risk environments. The EL180SIZ Safety Combat Boot has a lace-up/side zip combination that gives the wearer a good, secure fit, but makes the footwear easy to put on and take off. Goliath Footwear will be at Safety & Health 07 on Stand D30 * The report – RR419 – can be found at www. hse.gov.uk/research/ rrhtm/rr419.htm More articles from Goliath Footwear Ltd: |
