Tough as new boots

According to uvex, its new quatro is a stylish black lace-up ankle boot in water resistant full grain leather that is both comfortable and practical.

A hydroflex GEL shock absorbing element absorbs horizontal and vertical impact, reducing shock by 75%, claims uvex, while a stabilising plastic heel counter improves stability and ankle protection.

The broad sole with deep, self-cleaning tread gives the boot non slip characteristics and comfortable wide fit. The injection moulded scuff resistant toe and heal caps protect the leather and the foot itself at these high abrasion points, and the padded collar, breathable lining and an anti-static moisture absorbing insole complete the comfort element. The firm says these properties, combined with its heat resistant, anti-static, oil and petrol-resistant qualities, make it well suited to all tough environments.
