Warm and dry
February 1st 2009

When officers in the Dog Branch of the Scottish Police saw the new WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell jackets worn by their colleagues in the Mounted Branch, they decided they should be similarly equipped.

Like mounted officers, members of the Dog Branch also spend a great deal of time outdoors and needed a mid-layer garment with some insulation which could be worn indoors and outdoors. An important requirement was that dog hairs should not adhere to it.

The WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell jacket, from Gore workwear brand partner Yaffy, is warm, because the fabric is totally windproof, completely breathable to ensure comfort even during strenuous activities, while the water repellent finish keeps the wearer dry. It is also lightweight to allow for ease of movement and can easily be kept clean.
