Anti-bacterial products
February 1st 2006

Bacteria thrive in warm, damp environments, multiply and are easily transmitted. Health hazards, sometimes serious, are the result.

Bennett Safetywear offers a range of Dermos anti-bacterial products. These use an advanced fibre containing silver ions that damage bacteria cell physiology and disturb enzymatic processes.

The fibre is said to ensure that all harmful bacteria quickly become denatured.

The company says test results prove how effective the fibre is against, for example, MRSA, E.

Coli, S. Aureus and Salmonella.

Within 1h of the test starting, the Salmonella count had been reduced by 98.66% against the control sample and within 6h all the aforementioned bacteria had been eradicated.

The Dermos range includes an anti-bacterial glove, as well as a glove with additional thermal insulation and perspiration management system. There are also cut-resistant, anti-bacterial sleeves and gloves that are lint free.
