Glove awareness day June 1st 2008 The EnviroDerm Services
Glove Awareness Day
includes a short audio-visual
presentation on skin
protection in the workplace.
The aim is to ensure that
employees have a complete
understanding of how to use
gloves safely, know why
particular PPE systems are
introduced and appreciate
the importance of following
the system.
After the presentation,
there is an interactive
training session on how to
don and doff gloves safely,
with EnviroDerm's glove
contamination test
underlining the importance
of removing gloves safely.
The interactive session
also includes demonstrations
of permeation breakthrough
to increase worker awareness
and understanding, and
there are plenty of
opportunities to ask
questions.
For health and safety
professionals there is a 'Risk
assessment and management
of workplace skin exposure'
course.
This is designed to
provide the knowledge
necessary to ensure that
chemicals are handled safely
in the workplace. It covers
legislation, dermal risk
assessment, managing
chemical exposure in the
workplace through
engineering controls, PPE for
dermal exposure, personal
hygiene and how to
implement and maintain an
effective skin management
