Glove awareness day
June 1st 2008

The EnviroDerm Services Glove Awareness Day includes a short audio-visual presentation on skin protection in the workplace.

The aim is to ensure that employees have a complete understanding of how to use gloves safely, know why particular PPE systems are introduced and appreciate the importance of following the system.

After the presentation, there is an interactive training session on how to don and doff gloves safely, with EnviroDerm's glove contamination test underlining the importance of removing gloves safely.

The interactive session also includes demonstrations of permeation breakthrough to increase worker awareness and understanding, and there are plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

For health and safety professionals there is a 'Risk assessment and management of workplace skin exposure' course.

This is designed to provide the knowledge necessary to ensure that chemicals are handled safely in the workplace. It covers legislation, dermal risk assessment, managing chemical exposure in the workplace through engineering controls, PPE for dermal exposure, personal hygiene and how to implement and maintain an effective skin management system.
