Glove performed well during chemical tests
February 1st 2006

Specifically designed to protect employees who are at risk from chemical splashes in the workplace, nitrile Touch N Tuff gloves, from Ansell Healthcare Europe, have been extensively tested against a wide variety of hazardous industrial chemicals by the independent laboratory Centexbel, Belgium.

Test results showed that the single-use gloves offer high levels of protection against xylene, acetic acid, ethanol, perchloroethylene, triethylene, isopropanol, hydrochloric acid, ammonium hydroxide and cyclohexanone.

The Touch N Tuff glove is said to offer four times the puncture resistance of comparable naturallatex gloves and three times the resistance of similar neoprene gloves.

As the glove is made from nitrile, it effectively eliminates the risk of allergies to latex proteins for the wearer, and the company says it has shown no evidence of risk from irritation or Type IV allergies.
