Cold comfort Concept September 1st 2009 Centurion has launched a
new and improved product
within its Cold Weather
Hood System.
The range already
included a fleece helmet liner
that fits between the
Centurion cradle and helmet
shell to give total integration
and a secure fit. Many
wearers wear a standalone
frost cape, hood or balaclava
and then put their helmet on
top of it – sometimes the
helmet will then sit much
higher up on the head and
not fit properly. Centurion's
fleece helmet liner allows the
helmet cradle and headband
to fit directly against the
wearer's head. Centurion has
tested the total hood and
helmet combination to EN
397, including to -40°C.
When the weather gets
even colder, the wearer can
then add a Centurion frost
cape, in high visibility yellow
or orange with a reflective
strip, to the fleece helmet
liner. A separate face warmer
is available for extreme cold.
New to the range is a fully
integrated liner with frost
cape, which is compatible
with helmet mounted ear
defenders. In addition, the
integrated cape can be used
hearing is essential – mesh
flaps provide improved
hearing compared to the
standard frost cape.
