Lateral inserts
October 1st 2009 Sperian Protection has
launched the Optrel
p500, a new line of
customisable welding
helmets that
combines design and
performance. The
optoelectronic
helmets incorporate
the new concept of
lateral inserts. Welders
can use these
interchangeable and replaceable
inserts to customise their equipment.
An Optrel telescopic headband and
lightweight shell optimises
distribution of the helmet's
weight over the head,
thereby limiting tension
in the neck and nape. A
sensitivity control knob
for the auto-darkening
filter can be adjusted
according to the
welding procedure, while
a transition delay knob
controls the transition speed
from dark to light after welding.
